Amendment to Copper Products (Quality Control) Order
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) has issued the Copper Products (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025 on 19th February 2025, modifying the provisions of the earlier Copper Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024 dated 25th April 2024. This amendment offers limited-time relief for certain imports related to the manufacturing sector.

flexibility for manufacturers sourcing copper tubes, aimed at supporting

The Copper Product (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025, aims to enhance
product quality, safety, and standardization while allowing for transitional
flexibility for manufacturers, importers, and Micro and Small Enterprises
(MSMEs). By understanding these changes, businesses can stay compliant, avoid
penalties, and continue to operate smoothly.
Penalties for Non-Compliance: Any person or entity that violates this order will be subject to penalties under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
