This order, notified on 14th July 2023, mandates BIS certification for Welding rode and bare electrodes for gas shielded arc welding of structural steel, aligning with the Indian Standard IS 6419:1996.

Certifying and Enforcing Authority: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will act as the certification authority and is responsible for enforcing compliance.

Penalty for Non-Compliance: Manufacturers or suppliers who violate the provisions of this Order will face penalties as prescribed under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
