BIS QCO for Uncoated Stress Relieved Low Relaxation Seven-wire (Ply) Strand for Pre-stressed Concrete

The Ministry of Steel has notified the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024 under the powers granted by Sections 16, 17, and sub-section (3) of Section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016). This order replaces the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2020 and comes into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, except for matters already concluded before this supersession.

This order applies to Uncoated Stress Relieved Low Relaxation Seven-wire (Ply) Strand for Pre-stressed Concrete – Specification, which must conform to Indian Standard IS 14268:2022. All such products must bear the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) and be manufactured under a valid BIS license in accordance with Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Each product must also be accompanied by a Test Certificate issued by a BIS-certified manufacturer.

Products manufactured in India that meet alternative specifications for export, as required by foreign buyers, are exempt from the provisions of this order. The Bureau of Indian Standards is the designated authority for certification and enforcement. Any violation of the order will attract penalties as specified under Section 29 of the BIS Act, 2016.

Any future amendments or revisions made by BIS to the referenced Indian Standard will automatically apply to this order from the date of their publication.
