BIS QCO for Styrene (Vinyl Benzene)

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Styrene (Vinyl Benzene) (Quality Control) Second Amendment Order, 2024, which will come into effect on 24th October 2025.

This Order applies to all goods and articles related to Styrene (Vinyl Benzene), except those meant only for export.

From the implementation date, every Styrene (Vinyl Benzene) product must:

• Follow the Indian Standard IS 4105:2020.

• Carry the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid BIS license issued as per Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has been designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for this Order.
Failure to comply with this Order will lead to penalties under the BIS Act, 2016.

Any future revision or amendment issued by BIS to the relevant Indian Standard will automatically be applicable to this Order from the date it is published.
