• For all enterprises: The order will come into effect fromFebruary 28, 2025.
• For small enterprises: Compliance is required startingMay 28, 2025.
• For micro enterprises: The deadline for compliance is extended toAugust 28, 2025.
1. Mandatory BIS Certification

The regulation mandates thatStructural plywood – Specificationmust conform toIndian StandardIS 10701 : 2012.

• Manufacturers must obtain aBIS licenseto affix theStandard Mark (ISI Mark)on their products.
• This requirement doesnot apply to goods manufactured solely for export purposes.
2. Certifying and Enforcement Authority

TheBureau of Indian Standards (BIS)has been designated as the certifying and enforcement authority. BIS will oversee the certification process and ensure that only compliant products are manufactured, imported, or sold in the domestic market.

4. Penalties for Non-Compliance

Any person who contravenes the provisions of this order will face penalties as specified under theBIS Act, 2016.
