• Small Enterprises are required to comply from March 1, 2025.

• Micro Enterprises have until June 1, 2025 to meet the standards.

2. Mandatory BIS Certification

All Steel Wire Rope for Haulage must bear the BIS Standard Mark (ISI Mark), adhering to the Indian Standard IS 1856:2005. This requires manufacturers to secure a BIS license to use the ISI Mark, ensuring that their products meet the required quality standards.

• This regulation applies only to products for domestic use; items manufactured solely for export are excluded from this requirement.

3. BIS as the Certifying Authority

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is assigned as the certifying and enforcing authority for this order.
