BIS QCO for Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers

About the Order

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025, which will come into effect on 24th December 2025.

This order applies to all Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) goods or articles, except those meant for export.

From the date of implementation, all products under this category must:

• Comply with the Indian Standard IS 17658:2021, titled “Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers – Specification”

• Bear the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid BIS licence issued as per Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018

Certification and Enforcement

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has been designated as the certifying and enforcement authority for this Order.
Any manufacturer, importer, or seller found violating this Order will face penalties under the BIS Act, 2016.
