BIS QCO for Indented Wire for Pre-stressed Concrete IS 6003: 2010

This is to inform all existing BIS licence holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers of Indented Wire for Pre-stressed Concrete that the Ministry of Steel has issued the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This order has been notified under Sections 16, 17, and sub-section (3) of Section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).

The new order supersedes the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2020 and takes effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, except for matters already concluded prior to its enforcement.

Under this order, all Indented Wire for Pre-stressed Concrete must comply with Indian Standard IS 6003:2010. Products are required to bear the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) and be sold under a valid BIS licence issued in accordance with Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Each consignment must also be accompanied by a Test Certificate issued by a BIS-certified manufacturer.

Domestically manufactured products meeting alternative specifications required by foreign buyers for export are exempt from this requirement. The Bureau of Indian Standards has been designated as the certifying and enforcement authority for this order, and any non-compliance will attract penalties under Section 29 of the BIS Act, 2016.

Any amendments or revisions made by BIS to the specified Indian Standard will automatically apply to this order from the date of their publication.
