BIS QCO for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers

The Government of India has announced an amendment to the Quality Control Order for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) Copolymers. As per this Order, all EVA Copolymers covered under the notified category must strictly comply with Indian Standard IS 13601:1993.

From the date of implementation, products under this category must:

• Carry the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid BIS licence issued as per Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018
  
• Be produced and supplied only by BIS-licensed manufacturers who meet all testing and labelling requirements

Products manufactured only for export are exempted from this Order and may follow the specifications required by the overseas buyer.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has been designated as the certifying and enforcement authority for EVA Copolymers. Any violation or non-compliance with this QCO will result in penalties as per the provisions of the BIS Act.

Any future revision or amendment made by BIS to IS 13601:1993 will automatically apply to this Order from the date of publication.
