IS 14708:1999
This is an important update for all existing license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers dealing with Ethyl Acrylate. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has notified the Ethyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, under the powers conferred by the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016. This amendment ensures that all Ethyl Acrylate products in the Indian market meet the required quality and safety parameters prescribed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Applicable Standard:
All goods or articles of Ethyl Acrylate must comply with Indian Standard IS 14708:1999.
Mandatory BIS Marking:
Products must bear the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid BIS license issued as per Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
Certifying & Enforcing Authority:
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the designated authority responsible for certification and enforcement of this Quality Control Order.
Implementation Date:
The order shall come into effect from 31st March 2026.
Failure to comply with this QCO will attract penalties as per the relevant provisions of the BIS Act, 2016.
All stakeholders are advised to ensure timely compliance to avoid disruption in manufacturing, import, or sale.
Products manufactured solely for export purposes are exempted from this order, provided they meet the standards and specifications required by the foreign buyer.
