BIS QCO for Cross Recessed Screws (Fasteners – Cross Recessed Drilling Screws with Tapping Screw Thread Part 3 Raised Countersunk Head)

Key Points of the Order

• All Cross Recessed Screws must comply with Indian Standard IS 18471 (Part 3):2025 / ISO 15483:1999.

• Every product must carry the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid BIS license according to Scheme-I of Schedule-II of BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
  
  

Implementation Schedule

Note for Small and Micro Enterprises:

• Micro and small enterprises registered on the Udyam portal with plant & machinery investment ≤ ₹25 lakh and turnover ≤ ₹2 crore (CA certified) may be exempt from immediate compliance.
  
  

Research and Development Exemption

• Manufacturers (OEMs) can import up to 200 kg annually of these screws for R&D purposes.

• These items cannot be sold and must be disposed of as scrap.

• OEMs must maintain records annually and provide them to authorities when requested, on official letterhead with an authorized signature.
  
  

Authority & Compliance

• The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the certifying and enforcing authority.

• Non-compliance with this order may lead to penalties under the BIS Act, 2016.
