BIS QCO Amendment for Pyridine – IS 8058:2018

About the Order

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued this amendment order under the authority of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, to ensure the consistent quality and safety of Pyridine used across industries.

From the effective date, all goods or articles of Pyridine sold, distributed, or imported in India must conform to Indian Standard IS 8058:2018 and bear the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) under a valid BIS licence issued as per Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This order does not apply to products manufactured solely for export, provided they comply with the specifications required by the importing country.

Certification & Compliance

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the designated authority responsible for certification, monitoring, and enforcement of this order.

Any individual or organization found violating this order will be subject to penalties under the BIS Act, 2016.
