Here’s an important update for all BIS license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and sellers dealing with Lauric Acid. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has officially issued the Lauric Acid (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025 under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Act, 2016. This order will take effect from 24th October 2025.
This Quality Control Order (QCO) mandates that all Lauric Acid products manufactured, imported, or sold in India must comply with the Indian Standard IS 10931:1984 (Lauric Acid).
Products must:
Adhere to IS 10931:1984 specifications
Carry the ISI Standard Mark under a valid BIS license issued as per Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018
Please note: This regulation does not apply to products manufactured exclusively for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the official authority responsible for certification and enforcement of this order.
Any non-compliance or violation will attract penalties as specified under the BIS Act, 2016.
